What are the ideal Christmas gifts for 18 month old toddlers? I’ve been thinking really hard about what to get our daughter for her second Christmas. There are some traditions that we want to follow every year with her but apart from that it I had no clue. It’s not like you can just ask them for their wishlist. And they seem to be interested in anything else rather than the pile of toys that’s sat in the corner of the room. I’m pretty sure your toddler already has a whole load of toys which she/he doesn’t even play with. The house is getting more and more cramped with all the plastic stuff that hardly ever gets used. So, even though I know my little one will be getting a couple of new age-appropriate toys anyway, I want to get her some practical, more useful things as well. After a…
I love personalised presents. I like to look for something unique and different when buying Christmas presents for my family. Or any presents for that matter. So with my best friend welcoming their new bundle of joy this year, I knew all along that I would give them something personalised. Choosing the perfect gift for new parents is not an easy task. There are some traditional gifts such as baby clothing, toys, booties, blankets and towels. Nothing wrong with that, in fact, they can come in handy. Although I definitely wouldn’t go overboard with buying newborn size clothing. Firstly, you just don’t know how big or small the baby is going to be. Secondly, the new parents are likely going to buy enough newborn clothing themselves. And last, they are probably going to get some from others anyway. Definitely not a WOW factor. So, if you want to get some clothes, get…
When our little one was about a year old, it was evident that she outgrew her Group 0+ infant seat. It was time for the next stage car seat. So I spent few weeks researching what’s available on the market. And there is A LOT available, let me tell you. I was so confused at first. All these different groups of seats to start with. And then the various features each car seat has. So, how the heck do you pick one? Stay tuned and read this Britax Evolva 1-2-3 review to see all the excellent features of this car seat. Hopefully, it will help you in your decision-making process. Our criteria for the perfect car seat We brainstormed for a bit and came up with a list of things that were important to us. Safety is, of course, number one priority. As the little one still naps occasionally when on…
I have recently visited a friend in East Yorkshire. And while there she suggested a visit to Honeysuckle Farm, near Hornsea. She’s been there before with her kid, but for the little one and me, it was the first visit. And what a fun afternoon for kids it was. They had an amazing time. We arrived quite late though. Had a coffee at my friend’s house and then as you know, getting the kids ready and out of the house can be a lengthy process. But we managed finally and after a short drive from her place we were there at around 3 pm. On arrival, I noticed there were only a few cars in a car park, so it looked like it’s not very busy. Great, I thought. The entry is £4.95 per adult, kids under two go for free. You can also buy feeding cups and buckets at…
I’ve seen a program on TV recently, that demonstrated some latest baby gadgets. Seriously, there is so much stuff for babies nowadays that they really don’t need. Can you believe it, there is already such a thing as a smart dummy that can measure baby’s temperature hassle free? What happened to traditional thermometers? And what happens if your child won’t take to a dummy? Seems like it’s not so smart after all. Having a baby isn’t cheap, so why waste your money on baby stuff you don’t need. There will be many opportunities in the years to come to splash out; all the birthday parties, after-school courses and clubs, all their activities and entertainment. All the fun is yet to come, so do yourself a favour and save some pennies while you can. Some of the items listed I own and proved to be unnecessary, others I’ve considered buying and…
So, the first year of our baby’s life is well and truly over. Mixed feelings of sadness, happiness, accomplishment and nostalgia flow through my head. It’s a bittersweet moment of realisation that the precious, yet hard and exhausting newborn stage is gone forever.
Deciding what to buy for your one-year-old to mark her first ever birthday can be tricky. Yes, choosing gifts for baby’s 1st birthday is tough. I’ve been thinking about the gift ideas for quite some time. Do you let yourself run wild and get every toy under the sun that’s right for her age? You can see the reasoning here; it’s her first birthday, you are allowed to spoil her a bit, right?
Or, do you select few special items to mark this occasion?
After much consideration, I’ve come to a conclusion that there is some truth to the good old saying ‘less is more’.
Visiting grandparents or relatives abroad with your baby? There is so much to think about, so much stuff to pack when you travel with a baby. Apart from your own gear, you need million other things for your baby. Space is limited, and there are baby essentials like clothing, travel system or medication, so it’s important to leave anything unnecessary behind. Toys? Yes, you need some of your baby’s favourite, but you don’t need a lot.
Baby’s grandparents will probably take care of things like cot, baby bath, high chair, car seat and other baby essentials. Ours did, so I didn’t want to bother them even more by asking to get some toys to keep my baby entertained.
We’ve been using Joie Mimzy Snacker high chair for a few months now, so I think it’s a good time to write a review about how we are getting on. Overall, I’ve been happy with this purchase, it’s got some lovely features, although it’s not without faults. It’s very safe and comfortable for my little one. We bought it when my daughter was about five months old when we wanted to start introducing solid food. As she couldn’t sit unsupported then, we used it in a semi-reclined position but have since moved on to an upright position only. If you want to know the good and the bad, then read on as I inform you about all the details in this Joie Mimzy Snacker high chair review. Key features of Joie Mimzy Snacker high chair This unisex high chair has three reclining positions, easy to fold mechanism (can be folded and unfolded…
Baby products, so many to choose from. How do you pick the ones you will really need? I remember clearly walking through the baby aisles
during my pregnancy and feeling, ..em, rather baffled at times.
Ok, here we have swaddling blanket, and here are baby sleeping bags. Hold on, what are these cellular blankets, shawls, all these fancy items, that I have no clue what to do with them or whether I really need them.
And that’s just the beginning. What about all the other baby accessories?
